Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on the 12th of November, 1961 within Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast, and holds the record for being recognized with 10/10 scores in an Olympic performance. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi later the Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was only six years old. The first time she competed was at The National Junior Championships which she was 13th place in 1969. In 1970, Comaneci was crowned champion. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972 at a pre-Olympic Junior event for countries of the communist bloc she took home three gold medals and in 1973 and 1974 she was the all-around junior champion. In 1975, she won four golds and one silver in her first senior international competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European Champion. She took home the American Cup in New York City in 1976 and became the first woman to perform a reverse double salto, which is dismounting from the uneven bars that are parallel. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she started appearing on travelling shows such as Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol began her journey into the entertainment business in her teens. She began her professional career by performing figure skating alongside Nina Wayne, her younger sister as part of traveling entertainment programs Ice Capades. They featured staged ice skating shows.
