April Lockhart

April Lockhart (born July 4, 1995) began her musical journey as a 7th grader when she started guitar and piano classes. April Lockhart wrote her first track"Different" when she was twelve years old. She spent a lot of time at 14 making songs and practicing music. After that, she started taking excursions to write with her father, who lived in NY in New York and LA. April featured other topics in her song, Take my Hand. These topics included topics for her friends who dealt with things like peer pressure disabilities or even teen suicidal thoughts. Lockhart is an influencer in the beauty and lifestyle industry with an ever-growing following. She is a partner with the popular brand Ilia in partnership, and is also an expert in the field of lifestyle. Since she was born without a left hand, she is an important part of her. However, it's not the entire tale. Lockhart's profile on Twitter doesn't shy away from her status as disabled however, it doesn't concentrate on the fact that she is disabled. It's a message. The message is that we are more than just our physical self. Our identities are complicated and encompass a variety of dimensions. I do not want this to define me I don't wish to become a disability influencer where that's all I talk about because there are other aspects to me. Lockhart states in video form from her residence in Nashville. This doesn't have any effect on my everyday life. I go about every day as normal and have found my own method of adjusting things. It's also a part of my personality, and it's something that needs to be addressed. Lockhart is a great example of how to stay moving forward with self-acceptance. She admits that she's been through periods of being uncomfortable with her body and sometimes not being confident in wearing specific types of clothes showing how much of her body. Nowadays, she dresses what she's comfortable in and post photos in those outfits to social media with pride. What makes self-love so appealing to her is that it's not an end destination. This is a process, and I'm sure that you never arrive. I think it is important to be around people who can really understand you.
